Teacher and School Highlights

Taylor Elementary's Beyond Textbooks Program

Thank you for visiting the Snowflake Unified School District website. Our school district serves the communities of Snowflake and Taylor, in Navajo County in Northeastern Arizona. We have a proud tradition of excellence in all six of our schools. We encourage you to take some time and become familiar with this site. We hope you will use it often to retrieve information about our schools. As you read about us, you will learn more about our commitment to providing our students the opportunities to excel academically, socially, and personally.

A Message from our Superintendent

Dear Parents, Students, and Community Members,

The Snowflake Unified School District has become a leader in innovation and educational excellence. We embrace the rich history and culture of our communities while at the same time preparing our students to become successful in today's world. Our outstanding student achievement levels and school ratings are a reflection of the efforts by competent and caring administrators, teachers, staff, and board members, as well as the efforts of parents and the students themselves. In addition to academic excellence, we feature high performing, award winning, extra-curricular and co-curricular programs, clubs, and activities to enhance our students overall development. Our focus on increased collaboration within and between our schools helps students to make smooth transitions from one grade level to the next and from one school to another.

In our schools, we are respectful and trustworthy, care about each other, and take personal responsibility. Thank you for partnering with us so that the students who grow up in our communities will be prepared to become the leaders of tomorrow. Together we can make a difference.

Respectfully,

Hollis Merrell - Superintendent
